Overview of Gray's Scorecards

This session is intended for department chairs, program coordinators, and faculty interested in exploring the Gray & Associates Performance Evaluation System. This system provides aggregate data on student demand, strategic fit, employment opportunities, and competitive intensity for academic programs based on CIP code based on an array of available data.

Drawing and Other Visual Strategies for Teaching

This session will include a hands-on drawing exercise and examples from our own classrooms to highlight how drawing and visual strategies can be used across disciplines. We will cover different technologies and visual teaching strategies that can be used in virtual or face-to-face classrooms. We will conclude by presenting research supporting learning by drawing as well as tips to enhance teaching with visuals.

Excel with MS Excel

This session will help you discover tips and tricks for MS Excel. We will explore how to format a cell as text, no matter what's typed into it, including shortcuts like Ctrl ', ", C, X, V, F, H. Learn how to use basic formulas and some that are more complex such as Count If, conditional formatting, and how to create a chart.

Using Games to Increase Student Retention and Participation

Would you like to engage students through synchronous or asynchronous study games? Looking for some fun ways to easily create games for students to work on asynchronously or as a part of your Zoom or live class?

This session will look at fun game-based sites that can help you build your own activities. We will work from this collection of game sites (https://bit.ly/3e3DjqQ) created by the facilitator, Shannon Eastep. One tool we will look at is Flippity! Flippity has many templates that can be used to set up activities and games for your class. These include a quiz show, flashcards, scavenger hunts and more!

By the end of this session, participants will be equipped to do the following:

Discuss the pros of using game-based learning in the classroom.
Compare multiple game-based websites to find a suitable tool for individual classes of participants.
Demonstrate multiple game sites including Flippity and Quizlet and encourage participant participation.
