Building Connections and Relationships in Online Environments

In this interview, Dr. Firm Faith Watson will be conversing with Shannon Eastep, instructional designer and distance learning coordinator at Northern Kentucky University. In addition to assisting faculty in developing and supporting online instruction, Shannon teaches an undergraduate technology class in teacher education. She has been working in the field of instructional design and technology for over 17 years and won the 2018 university award entitled “Excellence in Online or Technology Enhanced Instruction” for her work in the field.

Increasing Engagement In Synchronous Class Meetings

In this interview, Dr. Firm Faith Watson will be conversing with Dr. Ericka Hollis, Associate Dean of Online Assessment and Faculty Development at Regis College. Dr. Hollis is a leader, promoter, creator, and administrator of high-quality learning experiences and has substantial experience in online, hybrid, and face-to-face teaching and learning. Her teaching and learning philosophy is undergirded by over twelve years of instructional design and technology experience both in academia and in the private sector as well as years of postsecondary teaching experience. Her research is focused on modern digital technologies and their impact on pedagogy/andragogy, communication, and higher educational leadership. Prior to joining Regis, Hollis held positions at Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE) as an Assistant Director of Learning Design in the Teaching and Learning Lab and at the University of Kentucky as the Director of Online Learning and Lecturer in the College of Education.

Using Free Technology Tools to Support Teaching and Learning

In this interview, Dr. Firm Faith Watson will be conversing with Dr. Michael D. Dailey who is the Director of Distance Learning and Instructional Design at Kentucky State University. He is the former Associate Director for Federal, State, & Magnet Programs with Fayette County Public Schools. Dr. Dailey rejoined the Fayette County family after 13 years at the Kentucky Department of Education. His educational experience spans over 30 years. He served as the Director of Next Generation Professionals for six years at the Kentucky Department of Education. Dr. Dailey earned his doctorate in 2015, and he specialized in Instructional Design for Online Learning. His research is specific to Communities of Practice and a framework for problem-solving. Dr. Dailey is a field faculty member for the University of Kentucky in the College of Education. He is the proud husband of Mrs. Tanya C. Dailey and the father of two lovely daughters and two son in laws: Dawn M. (Dailey) Walker, Reshawn Walker, and Danielle M. (Dailey) Turnley, Brandon Turnley. Dr. Dailey is a family first advocate and a servant leader with one motto, “Allow me to pull the weeds so you can plant the garden”.
